Dr. Cansu Güner

Wissenschafts- und Technologiepolitik

Cansu Güner ist Postdoktorandin in der Forschungsgruppe für Wissenschafts- und Technologiepolitik. Zuvor erwarb sie 2013 ihren Masterabschluss in Internationalen Beziehungen an der Koç-Universität und schloss im Dezember 2023 ihre Promotion an der Technischen Universität München im Department of Science, Technology, and Society ab. 

Mit einem PhD in Science and Technology Studies liegen ihre Forschungsinteressen auf der Förderung evidenzbasierter organisatorischer Veränderungen in Governance, Entscheidungsprozessen und Innovation. Ihre Arbeit untersucht, wie informelle Entscheidungsprozesse organisatorische Ergebnisse prägen, insbesondere in Bereichen mit hoher Tragweite wie Innovation, Einstellung, Beförderung und Forschungsförderung, in denen informelle Governance eine zentrale Rolle spielt. 

Ihre Dissertation untersucht die wechselseitige Prägung von Geschlecht und Unternehmertum, mit besonderem Fokus auf neue Formen von Lebenspraktiken in unternehmerischen Techno-Kulturen (summa cum laude). Am 6. Dezember 2024 erhielt Cansu den renommierten „Freunde der TUM“-Preis in Anerkennung ihrer herausragenden Dissertation. Derzeit arbeitet sie an einem Postdoc-Projekt, das ein Gender-Awareness-Training für Mitglieder von Einstellungs-, Tenure- und Förderkommissionen entwickelt, implementiert und evaluiert, mit dem Ziel, konsistente und evidenzbasierte Entscheidungsprozesse zu stärken. 

Cansu ist mit dem Center for Science, Technology, Medicine, and Society (CSTMS) an der University of California, Berkeley, dem STS Hub an der San Francisco State University sowie der Joachim Herz Stiftung assoziiert.
