Ich bin Wissenschafts- und Technikforscher und erforsche in meiner Arbeit die Visionen und Infrastrukturen von Datenproduktion und Datensammlung sowie deren soziale, politische und ethische Auswirkungen. Konkret interessiere ich mich dafür, wie Daten produziert, bewertet und verbreitet werden, und wie diese Praktiken Formen des Wissens und der Governance in Bereichen wie Sicherheit, Überwachung und Medizin prägen.
Ich absolvierte meine ersten Bachelorstudien in Philosophie (BA) an der Universität Wien und in Sozioökonomie (BSc) an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, und anschließend absolvierte ich meinen Master in Politischer Soziologie an der London School of Economics and Political Science. Meine Promotion begann ich in Wissenschafts- und Technikforschung am STS-Institut der Universität Wien (unter Betreuung von Ulrike Felt) als Stipendiat der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. Meine Forschung konzentrierte sich auf die soziotechnischen Visionen zukünftiger Grenzen und deren Einfluss auf den Aufbau europäischer Datenbanken zur Migrationsregulierung. Während meiner Promotion erhielt ich das Marietta-Blau-Stipendium der Österreichischen Agentur für Bildung und Internationalisierung (OeAD).
Im Anschluss arbeitete ich als Postdoc Researcher am Department für Philosophie der Universität Bologna, wo ich Teil des ERC Grant Projekts “Processing Citizenship – Digital registration of migrants as co-production of citizens, territory and Europe” (PI: Annalisa Pelizza) war. Im Oktober 2023 wurde ich Fellow der European New School of Digital Studies der Europäischen Universität Viadrina, und arbeite im Anschluss als Postdoc Researcher am Lehrstuhl für Soziologie der Technik (Projekt: Calculating Migration, PI: Jan-Hendrik Passoth).
Ich bin seit Oktober 2024 Teil der Arbeitsgruppe am TUM Lehrstuhl für Philosophie und Geschichte der Wissenschaft und Technik (Sabina Leonelli) und engagiere mich in der Ethical Data Initiative, wo ich in der Rolle also “Education Lead” tätig bin (https://ethicaldatainitiative.org).
Derzeit bin ich zudem Friedrich-Schiedel-Stipendiat und untersuche die Entwicklung medizinischer Gesichter mithilfe von Gesichtserkennungstechnologie (Projekt: Coding Faces in Medicine, https://www.codingfaces.com).
