Andrea Reichenberger is a philosopher and historian of science and technology. Her research focuses on women and gender issues at the intersection of physics, mathematics, computing and AI. Her driving force and guiding line behind teaching and research is to do history of science and technology in a way that fosters a sustainable future. She is currently Principal Investigator of a DFG project at TUM. Before Tamar Novick joined the faculty of the STS Department at TUM as Professor for the History of Technology in March 2025, Reichenberger had the unique opportunity to represent the chair during the vacancy. Andrea Reichenberger holds a PhD in philosophy of technology from Paderborn University and was research group leader at the Department of Mathematics, University of Siegen. She has written a book on the French mathematician, physicist and philosopher Émilie du Châtelet (Springer 2016) and has published over 50 papers, including more than 20 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Physcis Today, The British Journal for the History of Mathematics, History and Philosophy of Logics, and Language and Communication.
