To support building the TransforM Excellence Cluster at the Technical University of Munich (TUM)
Focus: Project Management / Social Media
Starting July/August 2025, approx. 6–10 hours per week
About us and the project
TransforM – The Munich Center for Transformative Technologies and Societal Change is an Excellence Cluster funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). TransforM tackles the dual challenge of advancing foundational social science research for technologized societies and rethinking technology development through a social science lens.
As an interdisciplinary social science cluster with a focus on technology, our goal is to further develop existing theories and methods to better understand transformative technologies and to help shape them in a socially responsible way.
We are currently building the cluster – including its infrastructures, communication channels, knowledge management systems, and research projects. That’s where you come in!
Your responsibilities
- Supporting our team with various project management tasks
- Creating and maintaining content for our website (WordPress)
- Creating content for and managing our social media profiles (Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Designing additional communication materials, e.g. presentation slides, brochures, giveaways
- Preparing, supporting, and systematically documenting meetings
- Assisting with the organization and execution of workshops and events
- Supporting coordination efforts with our consortium and external stakeholders
- Conducting independent research and reporting on various topics
Your profile
- You are enrolled as a student (e.g. in STS, RESET, Sociology, Communication Studies, Political Science, Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Media, Design, or related fields)
- Reliable, independent, and proactive working style
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Experience in web design, graphic design, or CMS systems (e.g. WordPress) is a plus but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of German is an advantage

Conditions
- Working hours: 6–10 hours per week (depending on your preference)
- Start date: July/August 2025
- Compensation: according to standard hourly rates for student assistants
