Philipp Mehl is a PhD student, teacher and research assistant at the Professorship for Law, Science and Technology. He studies the connections of security, law and society. His focus lies on the intersection of organizational culture, information security and legal design. He teaches courses on technology law, legal methods and leads one of the STS STEM mentorship groups.
Philipp Mehl has been working as a risk manager in the financial services industry and as a cyber risk and data protection consultant for a professional services firm. Prior to that, he studied political science at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, as well as European and International Law at the Europa-Institut of Saarland University. His academic focus was on state behaviour in relation to cybersecurity and on data protection law.
Philipp Mehl is a certified data protection officer and IT risk practitioner.
