Emilie is a postdoctoral researcher investigating digital technologies in mental healthcare. She is part of the Cluster of Excellence Munich Center for Transformative Technologies and Societal Change (TransforM). She holds a PhD in Political Science from Aarhus University, Denmark. Her doctoral research focused on how digital psychiatry reconfigures expertise between patients and healthcare professionals. Emilie is a trained sociologist with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Sociology from University of Copenhagen, Denmark. In her research, Emilie conjoins insights from Science and Technology Studies (STS), political science, and sociology. She is particularly interested in how technologies reconfigure relationships and divisions of labor in welfare and healthcare services.
Before Emilie obtained her doctoral degree, she has worked as a research assistant, teaching assistant (TA), and as a government official at the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science after completing her master’s degree.
Emilie has done several research stays. She has visited Paris Institute of Political Studies’ (SciencesPo) School of Public Affairs, Columbia University’s Department of Sociology, and University College Dublin’s School of Information and Communication Studies.
