Elisa Salman is a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Science and Technology Policy, Department of Science, Technology, and Society (STS), at the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology. Her research examines the discursive and sociotechnical dimensions of agricultural technologies, with a focus on how innovations such as controlled environment agriculture and digital agriculture are represented, legitimized, and contested in media and public discourse. Drawing on Science and Technology Studies (STS), her work investigates sociotechnical imaginaries and performativity of agriculture—how visions of sustainability and the future of farming are co-produced and enacted.
Parallel to her doctoral research, Elisa works at the Hans Eisenmann Forum for Agricultural Sciences (HEF) at the Technical University of Munich, where she contributes to science communication and media production, supporting collaboration and visibility across TUM’s agricultural research community and partner institutions.
Elisa holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Resource Management from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and a Master of Engineering in International Landscape Architecture from the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf (HSWT). Her academic and professional experience bridge sustainability, communication, and design, with a continued focus on the relationship between technology, society, and the environment.
