Laura Vogel has been a doctoral candidate at the Chair of Science and Technology Policy at the Technical University of Munich since 2026. In her doctoral project, “The Social Roles of Psychiatric Diagnosis,” conducted in cooperation with the German Center for Mental Health (DZPG), she investigates the societal functions and implications of psychiatric diagnoses. Her research interests lie at the intersection of science and technology policy, health and medicine, and the societal impact of medical classifications.
Prior to starting her PhD, Laura Vogel completed the elite master’s program Responsibility in Science, Engineering and Technology (RESET) at the Technical University of Munich, including a semester abroad at the University of California, Davis. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Cultural and Business Studies from the University of Passau. Alongside her studies, she gained professional experience in politics, non-governmental organizations, and the international startup scene.
