Katrin Mögele is an external doctoral researcher at the Chair of Science and Technology Policy, Department of Science, Technology, and Society (STS), at the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology. Her research focuses on European research and innovation policy, particularly on evaluation-based research funding, grant writing practices, and peer review processes in the context of gender mainstreaming in research and innovation. She examines how funding structures shape research design and knowledge valorisation processes.
In parallel to her doctoral studies, Katrin works as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Brussels Office of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, where she contributes to the positioning of applied research within the European research ecosystem and advocates for evidence-based energy and climate policies. She has international professional experience in various national and European political institutions.
Katrin holds a B.A. in Political Science and Law from LMU Munich, including research stays at the University of Bergen and Charles University in Prague, and a master’s degree in EU Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her doctoral project is supervised by Prof. Dr. Ruth Müller.
