The professorship for Science and Technology Policy at the Department of Science, Technology and Society is looking for 3-5 student assistants to support the group in research and teaching, in particular within the TransforM Excellence Cluster.
Your responsibilities
Support of the professorship in its various areas of responsibility in research and teaching with a focus on questions of science, technology & social justice through, e.g.,
- Supporting our team with various project management tasks
- Designing and creating communication materials
- Preparing, supporting, and systematically documenting meetings
- Assisting with the organization and execution of workshops and events
- Assisting with the organization and execution of teaching
- Conducting independent qualitative social science research and reporting on various topics
Your qualifications
- You are enrolled as a student (e.g. in STS, RESET, Sociology, Communication Studies, Political Science, Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Media, Design, or related fields)
- Reliable, independent, and proactive working style
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Experience with qualitative social science research methods
- Experience in transcribing interviews is an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of German is an advantage
Conditions
- Working hours: 7-10 hours per week
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Compensation: according to standard hourly rates for student assistants
- Work location: Munich (in-person presence required)
